Google Privacy

Taking a break from cloud security. Google is making headlines about its services concerning it’s new and enhance privacy statement. Really when you begin to look at it not much is changing. Two important takeaways are…

Google will combine data from all of its products to create a more useful user profile. Remember the useful part is two fold, maybe useful to you and defiantly useful to Google’s advertisers hence more revenue for Google.

Second it there is no opt-out. You're only option to opt out is not to use any of Google’s products.

Google spends around 900 million per quarter on its infrastructure. So yes it really is about money. We give up part of our privacy to get free services. No nothing new here its is the same business model for Yahoo, Facebook, Hotmail, MSN, and any other “free” service we use.
